I picked Orpheus because I’m obsessed with Persona 3 and have been for years. Yuki’s awakening scene did things to me mentally (and I absolutely love giving nicknames when I can, so calling him orphie is my full-time job, I havent said his full name aloud in forever-)
And it’s gonna sound super silly but I knew I wanted him to have a Greek background aside from the obvious first name! Gataki is just Greek for “kitten” because I made him a catboy in ffxiv (his regular oc form is a black wolf because hes originally a fuckin sonic oc-)

WHY IS YOUR CHARACTER NAMED LIKE THIS?

I’ve had her as an OC for a few years now, and she originally was supposed to be distinctly linked to Merlin (even though I’ve retconned that now) but I couldn’t think of a last name to give her until I remembered Merle AMBROSE from beloved mmo Wizard101 and it stuck.
Additionally, I wanted to give her a fun alliterative name that would roll off the tongue but still had fun nickname potential, and thus Amara became Mara and here we are. <:)

WHY IS YOUR CHARACTER NAMED LIKE THIS?
-> Gideon Crowther
It was inspired by one of my favorite characters in the TV show Criminal Minds, Jason Gideon. He was the model when I try to create my Ravenclaw HL MC. Jason Gideon was an FBI agent and understand a lot about human behaviors and emotions, and he’s so intelligent and composed, this is why the reason I love the name “ Gideon” and looked it up that it can also be used as first name, it’s also appeared in the era 1890s.
For the last name part, the funny thing was, I had no clue with which last name should I go with it… so I found an Victorian era name generator and tried to get some idea… and I found “ Crowther “ sounded very smooth and high status like due to the character setting, so I eventually go with it. And I love it! 💙
I’ve made my OC before I bought Hogwarts Legacy game and it’s often appear on TikTok, especially on my FYP I think that’s how I made my character until now 😅.
I named Hanako because it’s just crossed on my mind. I haven’t a clue that name Hanako is from Toilet-bound Hanako kun and found out his personality completly opposite with my character that I’ve made! Her personality actually inspired from Ada Wong from Resident Evil, she’s mysterius merchenaries who always approach and leave, intoverted, but ready to fight.
And last name is meaning of water plain. I made my character such as “still water runs deep” and I think Mizuhara sounds perfect for her!
I headcanon he has grey eyes. Despite he’s Gaunt family whose their ancestors is Salazar Slytherin (according to wikifandom, Salazar Slytherins eyes are grey) So I assume he has grey eyes.
Emerald eyes is PERFECT for him. When I saw the detail of his eyes in camera mod (despite I found some pics in any social media), I headcanon his eyes are emerald, if he has perfect visibility.
